This is equivalent to letting the burglars in or just giving away your valuables! E-mails and web sites that
temp you with offers / cures / help or tricking you to a bogus web sites by playing on security issues could
steal your personal information or log in details - The worrying thing is the e-mail / web sites may
look real. JUST DONT DO IT.
* Expired anti-virus / internet security software.
* Weak Information Protection Policies - i.e. Not clearing data from retired data storage / computers
Not encrypting sensitive data.
Not Complying with Data Protection Act.
* Prevalent Use of Windows OS
An exploit discovered on a system that is so widespread means all similar users could be at risk.
The number of attacks on applications is now more than those on operating systems.
According to SymanStec, the top Web-based attack recently was related to malicious Adobe PDF
activity, which accounted for 36 percent of the total.
* Use of computers with no password or bad / weak passwords
* Bad use of administrator privileges
* Lost Laptops and Careless Employees
* Poor understanding of e-mail & internet security threats
